Lebron Passes Pippen for Most Assists by a Forward

Congratulations are in order for Cleveland Cavalier’s forward Lebron James after he passed NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen for first place on the all-time assist record for forwards.

Power forward Kevin Love was at the receiving end of James’ pass as he drained a 3-pointer that gave James a record 6,136 assists for an NBA player who plays the forward position. James added to those assists with 11 for the game and now sits at 6,142 assists in his 12-year career.

While James has always been known as an explosive scorer, he takes great pride in his assist record.

“It means way more than passing Allen Iverson on Sunday for 22nd on the all-time scoring list. I’ve always took a lot of pride and I get more of a rush seeing my teammates succeed more than myself. And that’s what an assist is all about. I was taught the game the right way and seeing my teammates succeed has always been something that I’ve cared about more than anything and that’s what it’s all about.”

The list of the players James passed in the top four are all Hall of Famers in Pippen, John Havlicek, and Larry Bird, who are ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.lebron

Despite playing forward, James always seems to touch the ball more than other players at his position and could be considered a point forward. Without a doubt, ‘Bron has revolutioned the forward position and is a pleasure to watch whether he is throwing down a mammoth alley-oop, blocking shots, or leading a fast break that ends with an assist off a pretty no-look pass.

And that’s…as I see it!
